Posted: Apr 04 in Patient Results by StaffMy journey began on August 15, 2011. This was the day of my surgery for the Lap Band. Dr. Bagnato came in pre-op to see me and I told him “This is the First day of the rest of my life”. Even though I said that, I didn’t realize fully how true this was going to be. [Read more]

Posted: Mar 01 in Patient Results by StaffHello my name is Natalie and here’s my lap band journey. At an early age, I developed a weight problem. The older I got, the more weight I gained. As a result of my weight, I often felt shy and insecure. I appeared happy on the outside, but was very unhappy on the inside because of my weight and how I looked. I used food as a way to make me happy. As a result, I tipped the scale weighting as much as 356 lbs, wearing a size 28/30 in jeans and 4 and 5x shirts. I began to think about my health risks due to my weight such as high blood pressure and diabetes, all of which runs in my family. I wanted a better quality of life and most of all I wanted to prolong my life for the sake of my son. [Read more]

Posted: Feb 09 in Patient Results by Staff“My grandmother’s problems with her weight began in 1985 at 265lbs. After many unsuccessful attempts of dieting and gaining back the weight she had lost, she resorted to Gastric Bypass surgery in 1986. She lost down to 180lbs. However, by 1989 she had gained over 100lbs and was at a staggering 285lbs. In 1999 she traveled to Shands Hospital in Gainseville, Florida to undergo surgery to revise the Gastric Bypass as well as a hernia repair. [Read more]

Posted: Dec 30 in Patient Results by StaffI was 200 lbs when my wife and I were married 27 years ago. In the last 6 years I have added over 200 lbs making a total of 478lbs, which is not good for anyone’s health and I found this out the hard way. I was having trouble breathing and I could not walk short distances with out the feeling of exhaustion. I slept all the time, due to my being so tired having to haul around the extra weight and from being depressed. I know my heart, lungs and all other organs had to work so hard just to function because my health was deteriorating. [Read more]

Posted: Dec 16 in Gastric Band Blog by StaffFollowing your Lap Band operation you will need to follow a number of dietary requirements in order to stay healthy and progress towards your weight loss goal. Posted: Oct 31 in Patient Results by StaffI want to take a moment to thank Dr. Bagnato and staff for giving me my life back! 1 year ago I was a 32 year old on 17 different pills for Diabetes, Cholesterol, High Blood Pressure, Sleep Disorder, Arthritis, Depression, Anxiety, Mood Disorder, ADD, Chronic Back Pain, Thyroid Disease, etc. The only medication I take now is for fluid. I am down 36.5lbs, down 17 pills, and down from a 22/24 to a 16. I still can’t believe I got me and my daughter in my size 20 jeans. I look and feel great! I can walk without getting pain in my chest, I can sleep without a c-pap machine, and I have so much energy which I need to take care of my 3 small children. My singing has improved since the weight has come off as well. I feel like I have literally been given my life back. Both me and my family! I believed in the lap band and now too, believe in myself.

Preparing for Lap Band
