Heartburn Safe Diet

If you are looking for a “heartburn safe” diet, it may not be as difficult as you think to find one. Simply put, eating smaller amounts of bland, mild foods will usually land you in the safe zone when it comes to the discomfort of heartburn. Still, most of us enjoy some flavor and spice to our food. So how can you enjoy your meal without triggering the pain?
Flavor comes in many forms, and not all of them are hot or acidic. Since spicy food and acidic food are two of the main culprits that can trigger heartburn, you will probably want to avoid them. Still, you can add flavor to food without tart sauces or hot peppers. There are many herbs that can add distinctive taste to foods that will probably rate “safe” on the heartburn scale. For example, fresh basil can be tossed with a bit of olive oil and served over pasta instead of the heavy tomato sauce that can trigger a heartburn attack for some people.
Another way to take down your risk for heartburn is to go easy on meals that are overly rich. Combining several rich foods together may trigger an attack, whereas having a little bit may not. This speaks to portion size as well as healthy eating. For example, instead of having a large steak, loaded baked potato and veggies in heavy cream sauce, opt for a smaller cut with some steamed veggies instea
