Tony: LAP-BAND Surgery
My name is Tony Burt, I was born in 1964, in Albany Ga. I come from a large family and when we get together we have to have food.
I was 200 lbs when my wife and I were married 27 years ago. In the last 6 years I have added over 200 lbs making a total of 478lbs, which is not good for anyone’s health and I found this out the hard way. I was having trouble breathing and I could not walk short distances with out the feeling of exhaustion. I slept all the time, due to my being so tired having to haul around the extra weight and from being depressed. I know my heart, lungs and all other organs had to work so hard just to function because my health was deteriorating.
I drive a Semi truck for a living and it is one of the hardest jobs to keep weight off– sitting and driving for long periods of time.
Due to my failing health conditions I had not been performing well on my job over the last 3 years. I was turning down loads & being late. I would make up excuses to keep from admitting the truth, which was that I was over weight and was not able to do the task my job demanded of me.
I DECIDED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. I started looking into the Lap Band surgery. I went on a sugar buster diet in April and lost 41 lbs. before surgery.
Surgery was scheduled for May 10, 2010. Fourteen days after surgery, I could already see a huge difference and that was a blessing to me.
Due to my insurance not covering the surgery, I had to pay for it out of pocket.
Dr. Bagnato performed my surgery. He and his staff have been very helpful and I would HIGHLY recommend them.
It is now December 2011, I am doing very well losing 2-3 lbs. a week. I’m on my 8th fill at 8 3/4cm.
I have lost a grand total of 166 lbs. and I feel so much better & I have so much more energy. I am glad I made the decision to see Dr. Bagnato. I am very grateful for the LAP BAND.
My goal is to reach 200lbs again.

People like you with your sharing about the lap band made someone like me want to have the surgery. I had my surgery June 6, 2011. I have lost 55 1/2 lbs. I am so excited and I am looking forward to being a new person. I feel much better now and pray to be able to do things with my family besides eat. We are an eating family also. We meet to eat. Keep up the good work and good luck.
Thanks Tony for your information and good luck to you. Dr. Bagnato did my surgery June 10, 2011 I’ve lost 30 pounds when the ones in Dothan said I couldn’t do it. I think Dr. Bagnato and his staff are wonderful and thank God everyday for all their help I hate he is moving to Macon sure wish he would come to Dothan, AL. But, if I ever need to see him I will drive to Macon.

I have lost a total of 191 pound’s since may 10th 2010 – it is now 1-8-12 . I started at 478 pounds now at 287 pounds – i love my self and fell so much better – – keep up the good work guy’s and girl’s that has had it done — don’t give up – – it took a while to add – so it will take a while to lose . 🙂
I have lost a total of 197 pounds .. Started at 478 pound’s down to 281 now… Just a few more to go
Tony, I worked for Dr. Bagnato’s during and after the time you had your LAPBAND surgery. I AM SO PROUD OF YOU AND THE PROGRESS YOU HAVE MADE.
