Pamela W: LAP-BAND Surgery

pamela w weight loss success

My name is Pamela, and I had lap band surgery in December of 2013. I have lost 86 pounds so far. My journey has been a process of learning what I can and cannot eat. Sometimes I just want what I want. I do not go hungry.

I decided to have the surgery for a number of reasons, improving my health as just one. I wanted to feel better about myself and do things I haven’t been able to do for a long time. For example; going to an amusement park and riding all of the rides without fear of not fitting or the security bar not closing. I also wanted to wear shorts in the summer, especially here in Georgia. Well, this past July my family took a trip to Six Flags and I wore my shorts (looking pretty good) and I rode every roller coaster without a single worry of not fitting. In addition my stamina was great because I walked for hours all over the park and felt great. During my weight loss journey I inspired my oldest daughter to begin her own fitness plan and she has lost over 50 pounds. For the previously listed reasons I am thankful for making the decision to have lap band surgery. My life has definitely changed for the better.
