Genie H – LAP-BAND Surgery

When I started this weight loss journey at the young age of fifteen, I never knew that today, at the age of eighteen, I would be so happy with myself. I had always been the “bigger girl.” I struggled with self-confidence, relationships, and the motivation to change. I had never looked into LapBand, but as soon as my parents confronted me about the surgery, I was ready to change.

Before surgery, I was not able to move about as easily as I do now, and I would get winded and worn out easily. Now I feel better than I have ever felt. My self-confidence has increased drastically, and I am able to do more with my friends and family due to the change that I underwent. This journey has not been easy, if anything, it has been the hardest thing that I have ever done. I would not change anything about the surgery, or the hardships that I have faced afterwards. Thanks to Dr. Bagnato and his staff, I am able to be myself and not worry about the judgement of society around me anymore!
