Chart Your Success

Posted: Jul 08 in Lifestyle and Activity by

After your weight loss surgery, you have a meal plan that you follow every day. Just because you have a routine doesn’t mean you can’t make it a little more fun to follow. Use a piece of posterboard and make a colorful chart with everything you need to eat in a day. Don’t forget to add columns for the amount of water you need to drink every day, as well as any vitamins or supplements you need to take as well.

As you go through your day, mark off each square of accomplishment with a little star sticker or even just a check in the box with a marker. However you do it, make it fun for you.

When you use a visual reminder like a chart add an interactive element like check boxes or star stickers, it helps keep the information in your brain and you are more likely to remember your meal plan faster and easier than when you just glance at your meal plan a few times a day. You will feel like an active participant in your meal plan instead of someone following directions day in and day out.

It’s a great way to remind yourself every day that you aren’t on a post surgical diet, you’re on a new life path.

I really like this idea of charting my meals and water. I have a real problem consuming all my water. Lately it has been hard getting in my protein too. If anyone has a sample of their chart, I would really appreciate it being e-mailed to me. I am at coker1220@aol.com. Thanks for the help.
