Everyone tells you that life is a journey, for some of us the journey has so many more steps, and so many more paths. My journey began many years ago when my weight was spiraling out of control, my body was doing “crazy things” and I felt like I was on a roller coaster. My doctor diagnosed me with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, PCOS. With lots of medication some of the problems that I was having were beginning to get under control except my weight.

I was not a “fat kid.” I was always average size, until I had children. I blew up to 200 pounds while pregnant, and didn’t lose the weight between the 2 daughters I have. Over the years I added more pounds every year. Oh, I would lose a bit only to gain it right back. This went on for quite a while. When I was 37 I was put on Glucophage to head off the diabetes that I was surely about to have. After a year I had lost 40 pounds and was proud of myself. Over the years I went on every diet, tried every diet pill there was.

Growing up, things were not what you would consider “easy.” From being teased about my size and being told “no you can’t do that,” I guess it is safe to say that I just got use to it. I was never one of the smallest among us but I always tried to “fit in” and play sports, and do what I could to “beat the odds.” It just seemed like whatever I tried to do to lose weight either did not work or back fired and went the opposite direction. There were times that no matter how hard I tried to exercise and lose weight, the opposite happened.

I have been overweight for as long as I can remember. This includes most of my childhood. I’ve tried multiple diets and failed at reaching a healthy weight. Diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, joint problems…the entire army of weight related problems run in my family. I knew that if I kept going at the rate that I was going, that I would eventually succumb to one or all of these diseases myself. So far, I only suffered from asthma and joint problems. When I stepped on the scale in 2008 and realized that I carried 325lbs on my 5’2” frame, I knew that something had to change. At the same time, I just didn’t want to start another diet and fail.

First and foremost given Honor to GOD who makes all things possible
Hello everyone who have or is considering having weight loss surgery this is the result of my extraordinary journey. First you must pray other this drastic decision and decide what best fits your needs, because you as I heard over and over again from friends, family and associates, co-workers etc. “you just need to push away from that table and stop eating so much”.
